Steel Carports – Timber Carport Kits
A Carport is an essential addition to your home if you want to protect what is possibly one of your more valuable possessions.
Good design is especially important when you’re designing a carport as it’s a structure that sits attached, in front of or next to your home and it should either complement or mirror the architecture of the existing buildings.
Patio Living’s unique offer of both timber and steel construction materials mean that we have great flexibility in crucial design areas such as carports to ensure that our designs augment the look and feel of your home while providing a sanctuary for your car.
In designing your carport you should be aware that requirements from shires vary wildly in terms of what can and can’t be accepted in carport design. Certain shires demand that roofing, colours and framing of a carport match the existing home exactly, while others allow relative freedom in the design process. All shires have specific guidelines as to setbacks from the front of your property as well as boundary issues.
With over 30 years experience dealing with these shires Patios Living are perfectly placed to guide you through what can and can’t be built at your home and we’ll guide you through the design process so that you can make the right choices at this stage and avoid submitting plans that will be rejected.
In addition to this we have a great knowledge of the design nuances that help make a carport seem a part of a home. We’ve built hundreds of carports in recent years and have a huge array of examples to show you for guidance. We can also offer you a 3D CAD design service where we provide you with a great image of your home and your new carport so you can visualise the finished product before you begin.
Details
With the use of screening, finials, gable treatments or decorative trim, our carports create the impression that they’ve been there all along. You can add privacy, security and weather protection by fully or partly screening your carport. We can even design and build your carport ready to accommodate a wide range of roll up or tilt style doors.
Sizing
A typical double carport has a width of 5.4 to 6.0m and a single carport is usually 3.0m wide. The depth will normally be from 5.4 to 6.0m. If you have a four wheel drive or large vehicle then we may need to increase these sizes slightly.
Want to cover your boat or caravan? No problems, we can increase the height to suit and build you a custom boatport. Just give us a call to find out how easy it can be.
